What is monkeypox?
Monkeypox is a virus quite similar to ‘normal’ pox or smallpox that generally runs its course within a month. Incubation is 7-21 days. Some strains from West and Central Africa have been identified. Report has it that about 1 in 10 of those who are infected in Africa die.

It is often transmitted through close contact. However, more cases are detected in gay or homosexual men, but experts say it is too early to confirm intercourse is main cause. Monkeypox is originated from contact, bites or eating infected animals.
Monkeypox symptoms
Major Monkeypox symptoms include pustules, lesions and blisters on the skin, head, back/muscle ache, and fever. Medicals have employed the use smallpox vaccines and antiviral treatments as control measures but is not yet cleared as effective treatment for the monkeypox as efficacy is in doubts.
