Alongside the 12,000 redundancies made by Google’s Parent company, Alphabet, were 100 robots employed to clean cafeterias and conference rooms, according to a report by Wired.
Google’s Everyday Robots project – part of the experimental X laboratories – has been shut down, with the tech potentially set for other divisions such as advanced knowledge transfer and learning.
Over the last few years, Alphabet has reportedly been developing an integrated hardware/software system that evolves its understanding of its environment to improve learning techniques.
