March 23, Lagos: Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and record number of delegate have travelled to South Korea for this year’s week long invitational Program on Smart City Course on Sunday.
According to Special Assistant to the Minister on media, Mr. Victor Oluwadamilare on his facebook page, stakeholders were in Korea to attend the week long Capacity Building for e-Government in Nigeria Benchmarking Invitational Program (High Level Partnership Course) on this year’s Smart City Course, an e-Government collaboration with International Cooperation Center, Seoul.
He noted that on Tuesday March 22, 2016,t Minister Shittu, visited the KT NETWORK CONTROL CENTER & CYBER SECURITY CENTER in Seoul, where he and his entourage were treated to Koreans perspective on cyber security, cyber forensic and cyber policing.
The UNION also gathered that with the Minister are the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echonno;Director e-Government, Mr.Tope Fashedemi; Director ICT,Mrs Monilola Udoh;MD,Galaxy Backbone Ltd,Mallam Kazaure; Director General, NITDA, Dr. Vincent Olatunji; Sen. Fatai Buhari, Senate Committee Chairman on Communications House Committee on ICT, Hon.Saheed Fijabi and others.
Also among the team is Minister’s counterpart from Education, Mallam Adamu ADAMU on the grueling first day of the Invitational Program held at the Korea International Cooperation Center, Seoul.
He added that the list of participants suggest the seriousness the Federal Government attaches to the issues of development, e-Government and best practices, which formed the precursor for the onslaught against corruption and related vices.
