Nigerian young App and software developers are excited as the Semi finals of the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Changemaker Challenge 2017 was held at the Digital Bridge Institute, Oshodi, Lagos State on the 27th of October, 2017.
According to a statement Thursday, the Changemaker Challenge is a nationwide competition opened to young innovators, software developers and other ICT enthusiasts from all over Nigeria.
IT NEWS NIGERIA gathered that the aim is to tackle a selection of identified problems based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as they apply to Nigeria, and offer working solutions to them.
NCC noted that thirty (30) teams comprising 2 to 4 team members from all nooks and crannies of Nigeria showcased their applications and software to the panel of judges. Various applications that run the gamut of Agriculture, Health, Education, E-Government, E-Commerce, Cyber Security, Environment, among others, were showcased with respect to their vast potential for application to national challenges.
Out of the 30 teams that made it to the Semi Finals, 10 graduated to the Finals, which is scheduled to hold on the 28th of October, 2017 at the Digital Bridge Institute, Lagos.
The 1st Prize winners will take home the star prize of N1, 000,000, plus acceptance into incubation programme, and the 2nd and 3rd place teams will take away N750,000 and N500,000 respectively, including an acceptance into an incubation programme.
