FirstBank Nigeria Plc has expanded its financial inclusion drive by adding over 27, 000 banking agents to its network. This, the bank said is part of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s objective to bring financial services closer to the citizens.
The 27, 000 agents riding on the Firstmonie agent network are available in all 774 local government areas in the country. A statement, it issued on Monday says
“We are happy to announce that Firstmonie agent network, designed by FirstBank to solve the challenge of access to financial services has reached over 27, 000 agents providing basic financial services such as account opening, cash-in, cash-out, funds transfer, airtime top-up, and bill payments to customers across the country,” the statement disclosed.
The statement added that apart from performing the above, the agent network has been able to provide job, women and youth empowerment, and entrepreneurship development, which is part of Nigeria’s fundamental pillars of overall economic development.
