IT News Nigeria:
In keeping with its commitment to child online protection, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has heightened its sensitization outreach to special categories of stakeholders.
In the latest case, the Lagos Zonal Office of the Commission recently organised a cybercrime awareness programme targeting children of Wahab Folawiyo Junior and Senior High Schools as well as Government Junior College, Maroko both in Lagos State.
Staff of the Lagos Zonal Office informed the students about the abundant resources of the Internet and other communication possibilities but emphasised the risks associated with the Internet. The students were informed about various types of cybercrimes, the provisions of the Nigerian Cybercrimes Act 2015, and ways by which they can secure themselves from the negative consequences of Internet especially while online.
