A statement by the Registrar of the University of Lagos said the removal of the Vice Chancellor at the Governing Council’s meeting was held today at the NUC Conference Hall, Abuja.
The meeting, presided over by the Pro Chancellor, Dr Wale Babalakin, was attended by the Vice Chancellor, among others.
A statement signed today by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Oladejo Azeez said :
The general public is hereby notified that at a Emergency meeting held on Wednesday, 12August 2020 and inaccord with the ststutory powers vested in it by the law, the Governing Council of Universiyt od Lagos removed Prof Oluwatoyin T. Ogundepe FAS, as Vice Chancellor of the University with immediate effect.
The decision was based on Council’s Investigation of serious acts of wrong doing, gross misconduct, financial recklessness and abuse of office against Prof Oluwatoyin T. Ogundepe FAS.
