88.7m followers: Twitter suspends Trump account

Twitter has suspended President Donald Trump account citing breach of its policies.


In an unprecedented step, Twitter suspended the account of President Donald Trump for 12 hours Wednesday after he repeatedly posted false accusations about the election after his supporters stormed the Capitol following a Trump rally.

According to the social media giant, this tweet is no longer available because it violated Twitter Rules

President Trump last tweet read:

@realDonaldTrump·I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!

Further tweets would not be updated for the next 12 hours, IT News Nigeria learned.
