Apple showcases new iOS 16 at WWDC 2022

Apple has unveiled the upgraded and much touted iOS 16 operation system at its annual Worldwide Developer Conference 2022 (WWDC) on Monday at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple also showcased a new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro powered by the M2 processor, watchOS 9 and macOS Ventura.

The company said the new M2 processor for the MacBook comes with performance 18% above the previous generation chipset.

IT News Nigeria gathered that while the lock screen was updated in the iOS 16. Users can  select the watch design, colors of the photo for the lock screen, install various widgets and add animated widgets. Live push-notices also appeared in the operation system.

The update for Apple Watch comprises four new watch faces and new banner notifications.

The company introduced the Apple Pay Later system allowing splitting Apple Pay purchases into installment payments with zero interest charged.

The WWDC conference will continue till June 10.
