Nigeria Government under President Muhammadu Buhari has directed immediate shutdown of all Federal Government Colleges (FGCs) in Abuja following new security threats.

The Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr Ben Goong, confirmed to newsmen in Abuja on Monday that the ministry had ordered the evacuation of students from the schools.

Goong said the decision was as a result of rising insecurity and threat to the lives and wellbeing of the students.

IT News Nigeria gathered, some FGCs had been asked to vacate the school premises on July 20, while others will close on July 26.

However, the FGC, Kwali, had requested parents on July 24 to pick their children on Monday due to directives from the federal ministry of education.

Yesterday new video by terrorists shows the abductors flogging the abducted Abuja-Kaduna railway passengers. The terrorists had attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train on March 28, killing eight and kidnapping no fewer than 61 passengers. They also threaten to kidnap Mr. President and the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai.

ANALYSIS: When Government closes schools because of terrorist

Nigeria Government shifting grounds for terrorist, as against facing them squarely, could be seen as surrender or collusion. Government has demonstrated capacity to fight #EndSars riots and freedom agitators. It did not shift ground or leave no stone unturned.

Throughout the life of this present regime, terrorist renamed ‘bandits’ have reigned supreme with unbelievable impunity. They kidnap and hostage victims while threatening authorities the same time.

So far, Government has ignored calls for rejig pf the nation’s security architecture.

Furthermore, Media Reports have identified individuals in Government as terrorist collaborators. Till date authorities never for once acted on the information on the public domain in the face so many deaths and kidnapping across the land.

As Government and its armed forces shift grounds or concede Abuja, they may as well concede the whole country soon.
