The President of Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has congratulated the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) on his conferment as a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec).

Muhammed Rudman said this in the 200th edition of the NiRA e-Newsletter!

“I must congratulate the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami), who has been conferred with a Fellowship status by the Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec),” he said.

According to him, the CIISec Fellowship is awarded to individuals who have earned respect and authority within the Cybersecurity community and have demonstrated a commitment to developing the profession. “We are proud of the Honourable Minister’s achievements.”

Rudman also noted that NiRA has made some progress including disseminating information about the growth of .ng domains and providing insight as to the impact of its work on the nation at large.

Furthermore, he said NiRA’s efforts over the years have been to increase the adoption of .ng domain names.

“Even as I pen this in the middle of this year’s third quarter, I am overwhelmed by the support that we have received from the various stakeholder groups over the years. We could not have gotten this far without you, our ardent readers! Thank you for your trust in the brand.”

According to him, NiRA still have a lot to do this year, adding that the Association is “closer to the achievement of our strategic goals than we have ever been.”

This quarter, he said, will be particularly busy for us as we collaborate with various associations such as the Nigeria Bar Association and the Nigeria Medical Association to inform members about the value of .ng domains.

In addition, NiRA as the current Chairperson of the Nigeria Internet Governance Forum will be leading the Multistakeholder Advisory Group to host the Forum on the 15th of September 2022, he concluded.
