Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) has announced Thursday that it registered a total of 7,075 domain name and 4,277 renewals in the first quarter of 2016.

NiRA also added that in the month of March 2016, 2,496 new domain names registered, 1,633 domain names were renewed and there were 551 transfers amongst the NiRA Accredited Registrars.
“The total number of domain name registrations from January to March 2016 is 7,075 registrations and 4,277 renewals. It is interesting and refreshing to witness such growth. “
It also added that the renewal rate is encouraging as well. The graph above indicate the domain name registrations and renewals for a 3 (three) month period: January, February and March across three years.
